   Please ignore the other review for this printer which criticises the wireless set-up – I found the wireless set-up to be very easy. Within an hour, I’d successfully set up my main desktop PC and two laptops with no problems whatsoever. Installation from the CD is slow but works fine. A USB cable (not supplied) is required very briefly when setting up the wireless connection to your main computer (although apparently the required settings can be entered directly into the printer), but not when adding extra computers. Essentially, you just need to install the Epson software from the CD onto every computer from which you want to access the printer – from there, the installation process is easy.

   I had a very minor problem using Scan function. Initially couldn’t get scans to transmit wirelessly to my PC, but after first re-start of my PC it works fine – saves scanned files as .jpg to My Documents – presumably the target folder can be changed, but haven’t fully explored this yet.

   Anyway, in summary…..

   Pros:
   
   1. Print quality is fantastic
   
   2. Individual ink cartridges
   
   3. Very easy (if slow) wireless set-up
   
   4. Looks good
   
   5. Quick and easy photocopy

   Cons:
   
   1. Quite a large footprint
   
   2. Getting scans to transmit wirelessly was a nuisance (but now works fine)
   
   3. Feels a bit flmsy

   Prior to purchasing this unit I read the (mixed) reviews both here and elsewhere online , but purchased it anyway as I wanted to replace my HP USB all-in-one with a wireless connection for a recently purchased Dell laptop .
   
   Setup and Installation was seamless , initially with the USB cable connected , then the WiFi automatically detected both my home network and the printer itself , and took little more than 15 minutes to complete the whole process with print , scan , and copy funtions performing perfectly . Print quality is as good as , or even better than the HP all-in-one , although I havent used the photo printing or card reader as yet , but they werent my prime concerns anyway .
   
   My only critisism is that the paper transport mechanism is slightly more noisy than the HP unit , but then this is a wireless printer and has been set up in another room to that in which the laptop is generally used .
   
   Overall , first impressions are of an excellent unit that is simplicity itself to set up and use .

   I bought this direct from Epsom and had great difficulty getting this set up to work wirelessly despite following the instructions. Their technical people did not resolve the issue despite several calls and online chats and said it must be my router. My router company denied this. Epsom did not publish my review on their website nor would they allow me to return the printer. I now use it with a USB cable. Good printer but expensive if not able to connect wirelessly, a bit noisy when grabbing paper to print.
