This petite vacuum cleaner is ideal for smaller flats and homes as it’s compact nature means it’s relatively easy to disappear inside a cupboard when it’s not required. The adjustable hose and nozels are comfortably weighted and generously proportioned and the accessories (which come with a very useful little bracket that fits the hose) fit snuggly into place. The inclusion of a power head is a very welcome bonus.
Suction power is controlled with an easy-turn dial located on the main unit. I’ve found that full strength is a little too much on upholstered floors as the head tends to seize the floor and can easily lift the carpet from the ground. This strength comes in very useful in some circumstances, such as if you need to deal with dried in muddy paw prints or fine powder spills like talc and icing sugar.
The clear waste chamber means it’s simple to see when the machine needs emptied and it detaches conveniently so that it can be tipped directly into your wastebin without sending out clouds of dust. The filter is also very easy to clean with a little brush provided to avoid getting your fingers dusty.
The unit is lightweight and portable, although the wheels can sometimes struggle with deep pile, especially when turning corners. It can also be a little awkward on narrow stairs as the cord is a little shorter than ideal.
The Electrolux ZSH730 comes in a rather untowards shade of orange, but please don’t let the aesthetics put you off investing in a machine that performs most admirably and without too much noise.

I bought this as a trusted brand, and after reading the Amazon ‘buyers’ reviews, and I can honestly say the reviews were not fabricated. The ZSH730 does what it claims and is powerful, purposeful plus funky in design. Yes the handle for the ‘dust bin’ gets confused with the main carrying handle, but the whole thing clips together securely, and the Hepa rated filters look ‘man enough’ to last a good while (get 2 with the machine). Plenty of robust attachments too. So well happy, and love vacuuming once more.

On paper this seems an ideal product for a smaller house, but I am extremely disappointed by the basic design flaw which results in the filter clogging far too quickly. I clean it regularly as per the instructions, but the dust container rarely becomes a fifth full – if that – before the filter is soon coated and clogged causing suction to fail. I do not have pets nor anything that causes more than light domestic use. My advice is to spend more and buy a Dyson. I wish I had.

Well i wasn’t sure what i may be letting myself in for having bought Dyson for many years. I take my hat off to Electrolux on this product, absolutely satisfied and a lot more powerful than my old Dyson, even when the Dyson was new !!
The accompanying tools have been well thought out in the design room, the tool with the spinning brush is fantastic, great invention !. We have pets and live in a 3 bedroom house, not a problem at all, the carpet is grabbed by this device and emptied of debris. A very clean home at last, and very light bearing in mind the whopping power it produces.
Top marks Electrolux, one less Dyson customer here !
