First impression when unpacking this hoover was how everything seemed to be top quality. The point where the tube connects to the hoover always seems to be the weakest point on any hoover, as it’s usually pulled a lot, but this hoover has a clever looking reinforcement which should make it last a bit longer. The automatic cord pull works a dream, and it has a looong cord! Suction power is really good, and variable. So far very happy with this hoover. Actually, when my mum tried it, she went out to get herself a new hoover from this brand. One thing though, it’s only got two extra nozzles: a long thin one and a smaller mouthpiece. There’s no brushpiece, which would have been nice.

After years of being loyal to Dyson my will (but not the Dyson) finally gave out.

I used to live in a house with carpets and no stairs – an upright dyson really got rid of dog hair and was very powerful.

Now I live in a house with no carpets (2 rugs, but all hard wood floors) and the pull-along Bosch is all that I need.

    POSITIVES:

The suction is good enough for all jobs I found so far. It’s brilliant to have a vacuum cleaner light enough to pick up and be able to do upholstery and curtains with it. (The Dyson was too unweildy even using the hose… and too heavy.) The upholstery setting is brilliant.

The long cable means I have to move the plug around much less. I can do a whole 2 flights of stairs and the landing without stopping halfway and changing it to the other end!

The head has a great plastic strip along the back which sort of sweeps all the larger crumbs towards the suction point. Very clever and you feel like you’re getting all the debris first time.

Manoeuverability is tip-top – this was a revelation after a big machine. I can do under all the furniture very easily.

I found the tools to be easily stored and click well into place – not falling off.

I almost bought a Henry but was concerned by the comments about stability. I do not treat my hoover well. I often treat it with force and anger – this Bosch is standing up to all treatment like a star. No falling over, no misbalance etc.

This is a light machine – after lugging round almost 9Kg of Dyson my back is thanking me for the change.

(In my instruction leaflet there were loads of buying options for replacement bags including fabric permanent bags!)

    NEGATIVES:

After years of ‘bagless’ it does take some time to get used to the hoover bags. You definitely know when you need to change as, apart from the indicator, the suction goes down dramatically. I find the bags a little small. In a large house I get about a month per bag. (I’ve worked out that it will take me at least 5 years of buying bags before I’m even near the starting price for a Dyson… so I’m not going to worry about that.)

The cord does retract but it has to be fully pulled out before it will go in again. A little frustrating if you’ve only taken it out for a minute to hoover up something small.

The ‘wand holding clip’ does not hold the wand very effectively, luckily this wasn’t a reason for buying.

    OVERALL:

I’d buy this machine again, and again. I’ve recommended it to friends. I think it’s brilliant and I doubt I’ll ever spend Dyson-money again on a hoover. This really does the job, without breaking my back.

I found this cleaner to be excellent in every respect. Light, compact, VERY powerful and the brushes pick up bits my other cleaner did not.

I was given a Bosch drill and screwdriver set for a birthday many years ago and every time I have needed to replace any thing I have bought Bosch. I now have washing machine, dishwasher, lawnmower and now cleaner as well as the drill set and have been more than happy with all of them. Please Bosch will you start a MAN production line and I will buy one. Thank you.
